Denise has been involved in non-profit organizations for many years! As co-founder of CoACH Care Center (AKA Almost Home Kids), she, along with a great team of parents, community leaders and healthcare professionals, created the first Children's Community Based Health Care Center. Adopting Jacob, her medically fragile son, and being medically fragile herself made her aware of the unmet needs of families whose children have special needs. Today, Almost home Kids is a vital part of the Robert and Ann Lurie Children's Hospital!
In addition, Callarman served as Vice President of the Tellabs Foundations. The foundation granted Millions of dollars to various organizations throughout the Chicagoland area (specifically DuPage County) as a way to give back to the community in the fields of health care, education, and the environment.
Callarman also served alongside pediatric health care professionals at the he American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). There she consulted with health providers on the importance of Family Center Care and helped in establishing the first Parent Advisory Board in partnership with pediatricians on a national scale.
Denise's expertise is vast. From Board development, and strategic planning to employee retention, and team building. She is in full support of Executive Directors by offering her coaching skills to help them advance their mission. She holds awards in Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist from Inc. Magazine and has been recognized in People Magazine and other publications.
Today, Denise continues to offer her expertise to non-profit organizations. She and her husband Tim enjoy living on a small 3 acre parcel of land in Winfield, IL. This has been a lifelong dream of hers. While this is her personal home, she would like to share the ranch with non-profit organizations that are looking for opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with their staff, board members and clients.
